The Kyoni Data Backup Service is designed to allow small businesses and home users the ability to protect their data from catastrophic loss.
Most small businesses are ill prepared when it comes to data backup and disaster recovery. Many do not have a backup system or plan in place. Those that do have backup systems usually have gaps or issues with their data backup plan or execution.
Typical Issues include:
- Local media is not changed or rotated on a scheduled basis as it should be
- Local media is not rotated offsite for protection
- Backup jobs are not configured properly causing little or no data to actually be archived
- Backup media isn’t being properly maintained causing backups to fail
- No mechanism for online/cloud backup services are in place
The problem is usually worse for home users. Only a small percentage of home users actually backup or archive their data on a regular basis. When backups are done they are usually made to CD/DVD, thumb drive or external hard drive. Irreplaceable digital photos, movies and other data can be lost due to viruses, hard drive failure or accidental deletion.
