Can you answer the following questions?

  • Is your network secure from external threats?
  • Are any of your servers or workstations infected or have they been compromised?
  • Is your network configured properly?
  • Have your bandwidth needs exceeded your current network or Internet connection capacity?
  • Are your servers and workstations close to failure?
  • Do you know what software has been installed on your workstations?
  • Do you haveĀ current server, workstation and network infrastructure documentation?

If your organization can’t answer the questions above, or if the answers that you have are more then a year old, then your organization could greatly benefit from Kyoni’s IT Infrastructure Assessment Service.

Kyoni’s Infrastructure Assessment Service has three main objectives:

  • Develop or validate current IT environment documentation
  • Assess the current IT environment strengths and weaknesses

Kyoni’s Infrastructure Assessment Service provides the review and documentation of the current environment including:

  • Network infrastructure – local area network design, wide area network links and remote end user connectivity solutions
  • Physical and electronic security mechanisms
  • Network servers including services provided and hardware/software configuration
  • Workstations including hardware/software configuration
  • Virus protection solutions, configuration and status
  • Backup solutions including hardware/software configuration, schedules and rotation methods
  • Disaster recovery plan
  • Complete hardware and software inventory of all production equipment in use including network equipment, servers, workstations, printers and peripheral devices
  • Current IT policies, procedures and service level agreements

Thorough documentation will be created by Kyoni and will be validated for accuracy with your organization. The documentation will be presented as the deliverable for the Infrastructure Assessment Service. Kyoni will also provide a set of recommendations that will be broken down to show:

Short-Term Recommendations

Short-term recommendations are generally related to high priority issues in the environment including network availability, service availability, security exposures, virus exposures, server or workstation failures and system backup issues.

Mid-Term Recommendations

Mid-term recommendations are generally related to issues in the environment effecting network or system performance, robustness and stability.

Long-Term Recommendations

Long-term recommendations typically reflect strategic technical issues within the environment including technology architecture, scalability and standards, as well as organizational issues including policies, procedures, procurement, asset management and service level agreements.

Recommendations will be evaluated and prioritized as a joint activity between Kyoni and your organization. Once prioritization has been completed a roadmap for the ongoing management and evolution of the environment will be established. Your organization will assume ownership of all IT environment documentation.
